Practical information about our ski and snowboard lessons

Participants

From 1 student for private lessons. Groups of up to 9 people for group classes. Smaller groups for beginners to ensure optimal guidance.

Material

On the day of your lesson, make sure you have equipment suited to your activity and skill level. Bring your skis or snowboard, boots, and poles (for skiing), as well as a helmet, which is highly recommended and mandatory for certain lessons. Also, remember to wear warm clothing, gloves, and goggles or a visor so you can fully enjoy your session in the best possible conditions.

Age

We accept children of any age, provided they want to ski! This is often around the age of 3. For snowboarding, the age is usually closer to 5 or 6.

Duration

Group lessons: 2.5 hours per day/lesson. Private lessons: from 3 hours to a full day.

Morning: 10:00 AM – 12:30 PM Midday (February holidays): 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM Afternoon: Christmas: 2:00 PM – 4:30 PM; February: 2:30 PM – 5:00 PM

Languages

Lessons can be conducted in French, English, and other languages, depending on instructor availability. Please do not hesitate to contact us with any special requests.

2. Days & Hours
Group classes are organized throughout the week, with morning, afternoon, or midday slots available depending on the season. Check our schedule to choose the day and time that suit you best.

4. See you on the big day
On the day of your lesson, please arrive at the Vars ESI meeting point a few minutes before the scheduled time. Your instructor will meet you there to start the activities and ensure the session runs smoothly. Remember to check your equipment so you can make the most of your experience right from the start.
5. Warm-up and preparation
A few minutes are dedicated to warming up, safety instructions, and checking equipment. This time helps activate muscles, improve mobility, and reduce the risk of injury, while also fostering better progress on the slopes. It is an essential step for making the most of your lesson safely.
6. Live the experience
Make the most of the experience. With their expert knowledge of the resort, our instructors guide you along the best routes, ensuring an authentic and personalized experience. Combining shared moments, skill development, and the pure joy of skiing, every instant becomes a true immersion in the mountain world.

How to get to Vars?

Getting to Vars by car is simple and convenient. Several routes offer easy access to the resort from Marseille, Aix-en-Provence, Grenoble, or Lyon. Once in the Hautes-Alpes, simply follow signs for Guillestre, then take the D902 road, which leads directly to Vars. In winter, remember to check traffic conditions and ensure your vehicle is equipped with winter tires or snow chains in accordance with current regulations.

Vars is also accessible by train. The nearest station is Mont-Dauphin – Guillestre, served by trains from Paris, Marseille, and Valence. Upon arrival, regular shuttles, taxis, and transport services make it easy to reach the resort in about thirty minutes. It is a convenient way to travel stress-free while enjoying the magnificent scenery of the Hautes-Alpes.

Vars is also accessible by plane via nearby airports. Airports such as Marseille-Provence, Turin, Grenoble-Alpes-Isère, and Nice Côte d’Azur offer easy access to the Hautes-Alpes region. From the airport, you can continue your journey by rental car, shuttle, or train to Mont-Dauphin -> Guillestre, and then reach Vars in just a short time.
